Based on the teachings of latter-day prophets,
Latter-day Grooks is a collection of short aphoristic poems that will lift you up and give you hope.
Grooks were originally created by the Danish poet Piet Hein, (1905–1996) who wrote over 7000 of them in both the Danish and English languages. A grook (‘gruk’ in Danish) is a form of short aphoristic poem or rhyming aphorism. Grooks are meant to be spirit-building, multi-faceted, and characterized by irony, paradox, brevity, precise use of language, rhythm, and rhyme.
This is the second volume in the Latter-day Grooks series. Many have tried to define what a grook essentially is. Grooks are a form of short aphoristic poetry. Most grooks say what any one of us may think ourselves, but they put pertinent new perspectives on everyday observations, presenting the reader with small instructions in the art of living.
Volume Three of the Latter-day Grooks series. Aphoristic collections, also known as wisdom literature, have a prominent place in Western civilization. They have had a profound impact on the canons of ancient societies, such as the literature of Hinduism and Buddhism, the Biblical Ecclesiastes, Islamic hadiths, and Epictetus’ Handbook.
"The words which all of us shall one day hear sound not of theology, but of life, not of churches and saints but of the hungry and the poor, not of creeds and doctrines, but of shelter and clothing, not of Bibles and prayerbooks but of cups of cold water offered in the name of Christ.”
Henry Drummond

The promises in the Book of Mormon are not imaginary inferences. The Prophet Joseph Smith declared that the Book of Mormon will draw us nearer to God. These promises focus on matters pertaining to the kingdom of God. They offer us the marvels of eternity.
On the inside cover of his first Book of Mormon, my father had written the following quote from Joseph Smith: "I told the brethren that the Book of Mormon was the most correct of any book on earth." Right below this, he had written a list of verses under the title, "Mistakes in the Book of Mormon." These corrections actually testify to the truthfulness and authenticity of this holy book.
If you had less than four minutes to leave a message for the world to hear, what would you tell us?
“Since the world began, God has raised up prophets who speak the will of heaven to the people of their times. It is our responsibility to listen and then apply the messages the Lord provides for us.”
- Dieter F. Uchtdorf
"I really enjoyed learning about the history of The Book of Mormon. So often we talk about what is written and seldom think about the way the plates were made. [Hieroglyphs, Golden Plates, and Typos] was a refreshing perspective that now helps me see and think new things as I read the scriptures."
"The 31 promises from the Book of Mormon in "Give Place In Your Heart", are so beautifully laid out--a veritable feast for the hungry spirit and soul. I will partake again and again. This book is very well-written, comprehensive, and meticulously referenced. Truth resonates from every page. I highly recommend it."
[Three Minutes eighteen Seconds] "...is a wonderful short sweet book with all kinds a great information for everyone. I'm glad I purchased this and I will reread it over and over. I recommend this book to everyone."
"Greatness is not measured by what we have, but by what we give."
The Earth’s climate has been unstable throughout history. Whether our current climate change is the result of human behaviors, natural influences, or an amalgamation of both is a widely debated question.
The only real question concerning climate change is: What can we do about it?
They say that God works in mysterious ways, which is just another way of saying, “I don’t understand what God is up to.” In my short twenty-one years on this planet, I had seen some of God's mysterious ways but whatever it was He was doing in the small town of Villa Mercedes, none of us could quite figure out.
Mark Spencer, a man raised in an idyllic small town, becomes very lost in the massive city of Los Angeles. He didn't become geographically lost; he became spiritually lost. That's when Mark meets Marvin, a sockless, root-beer-float-toting ex-hippie. They travel the road to Bethlehem together, reflecting on the birth that took place in a humble manger. A beautiful story of hope and redemption and the joyous possibility of second chances.
