Give Place in Your Heart

"The 31 promises from the Book of Mormon in "Give Place In Your Heart", are so beautifully laid out--a veritable feast for the hungry spirit and soul. I will partake again and again.... This book is very well written, comprehensive and meticulously referenced. Truth resonates from every page. I highly recommend it."
Linda Perry McCarthy - Author

I was writing one morning in the cafe at the Barnes and Noble in Sugarhouse, Utah. For some reason, I was thinking about the promise in the Book of Mormon which states that if we keep the commandments of the Lord we can "prosper in the land." I began to wonder what other promises the Book of Mormon held for us. I went home and began re-reading the Book of Mormon, this time with the intent of identifying its promises to us.

Perhaps I was inspired by the Baskin-Robbins I passed on my drive home, but, whatever the case, I decided to identify 31 promises and then write a few pages about each one. This is not intended to be a complete list of all that the Lord has promised his children through the inspired writings of ancient American prophets but I hope it provides a foothold for those who are seeking the blessings that come from a sincere faith in the Lord and in his words.

"Its promises are not imaginary inferences. They are, instead, precisely what Joseph Smith meant when he declared that the Book of Mormon will draw us nearer to God."

"I have been a Latter-day Saint for almost 43 years now, and I have lost count of the number of times I have read The Book of Mormon. This book gives me new insight. From now on, I can read The Book of Mormon with more understanding."

"This was a great, brief read that brought out some interesting points about the reality of inscribing sacred records onto metal plates. Worth spending a couple of hours pondering..."

"Just finished reading Hieroglyphs, Golden Plates and Typos: How Corrections in the Book of Mormon Prove Its Authenticity and really enjoyed this brief volume. Although I was aware of some of what the author discusses about Reformed Egyptian and working with metal plates, I was happy to see it all down in print. Don't be fooled by any part of the title, the mistakes help to prove that the Book of Mormon is the Word of God."

"Hieroglyphs, Golden Plates and Typos presents excellent evidence of the claims that the Book of Mormon is an ancient writing inscribed on metal plates which was later translated by the Prophet Joseph Smith. Wylson convincingly demonstrates how the original authors of the Book of Mormon corrected any "typos" or "slips of the stylus," as he calls them, and presents them as evidence of the origin of the Book of Mormon. A very interesting and faith-building book."

"I really enjoyed learning about the history of The Book of Mormon. So often we talk about what is written and seldom think about the way the plates were made. This book was a refreshing perspective that now helps me see and think new things as I read the scriptures."

"The author asks us to imagine President Monson's last conference address as a three minute interview with the prophet. This context adds additional immediacy to President Monson's message."
